Daddy Day

My day got double booked with the soccer party and two stamp camps so...Daddy to the rescue! He endured the soccer party at the park by himself...

Bike riding at the church parking lot by himself...

AND dinner (McDonald's) and a movie (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) with all three kids by himself. You're amazing, honey!!! Love you, babe!

Soccer Finale

Today was the last day of soccer for this season.

J.R. completed the season by trying out the position of goalie the last half of the game. (I was so nervous for him to be the goalie because when he took over, the game was tied 1-1.) It was a great way to end the season.

He was quite proud that he played every position this season. He's really become quite the soccer player. We ended the game with a 1-1 tie even after an extra 5-minutes trying to break the tie. What a great season Hammerheads...7 wins, 1 loss, 3ties! We had our team party immediately after the game today at a park.

It's been a fun season to see how well all the boys have gotten along and learned to play together so well. You've done great this season, J.R.!

BIRTHDAY, BIRTHDAY!

What a big day for J.R. We started the morning by singing happy birthday and JR blowing out a candle on his pancake.

Then it was off to school. We passed out popsicles at the end of the day while his class sang to him. He was so happy today!

Then it was home to prep for last minute things for the birthday party and try out his new bike!

We had such a fun time at the party...complete with a feast (make-your-own pizzas), Transfiguration class (Animal Charades game, Potions class (we made slim/gloop), Herbology class (decorate your own cupcake), a dragon hunt (a treasure hunt for the dragon pinata as well as the other group finding magic kits, and a dragon fight (breaking the pinata).

Who do you think used the most frosting or the most candy on their cupcake??

Of course, it was J.R. Guess he needed all that frosting and candy to hold up 8 candles.
Sierra was the one w/ the lucky shot to finish off the pinata :)
Thanks for the great celebration guys. I knew today was a success when J.R. told me this before going to bed..."Mom, I know that your 8th birthday is a special one because of the important things that happen. It was the best birthday ever. Thanks, Mom, for making it special to me." Melt my heart....guess I was a good mom for one day. Happy Birthday, J.R....love you!

Bedtime

Sydney's idea of the perfect bedtime....sippy cup with milk, cuddled in her favorite blankie, wearing "Rella" jammies, and reading a princess story. Good night, princess!

Native American Day

Sierra had such a fun day at school today. They've been learning about the first Thanksgiving this week. Today they got to dress up as Indians. They planted corn (that's what's in her cup) and practiced making clay pots from clay. Sierra loved drawing on her "clay pot" with a toothpick to make a design.

Birthday Boy!

Oh...the fun we had celebrating Dave's birthday yesterday. The kids were so excited to help. Sydney helped make the cake while the older two were at school. The first task when they got home was to help decorate Daddy's cake.
J.R. got to write the words on Daddy's cake.
Sierra decorated the cake with balloons and hearts. Dinner was DELICIOUS!!!!! Corn on the cob, steak, twice-baked potatoes, and a fresh fruit salad.
Sierra's favorite part was the corn on the cob.
J.R. would have a hard time choosing between the steak and the corn...the strawberries were his favorite to pick out of the salad.
Sydney...she's just a good eater! She thought the steak was awesome and didn't see the point of having anyone cut it up for her when she could just tear it apart with her teeth.
Daddy was so proud of his cake.

The most precious part of the night was listening to the kids sing happy birthday to their dad :)
Who can forget cake and ice cream? All the kids could have forgot about the cake but definitely NOT the ice cream! Sydney loved every bite.
Sierra loves dessert :)
And of course JR had seconds of ice cream.
Happy 35th Birthday, Dave! Love you!

Happy Birthday, My Love!

Hope your day is wonderful, babe! Can't wait for you to get home so we can all celebrate your special day! Happy Birthday! Here's to MANY, MANY more :) It's always so fun to hear people guess how old Dave is. I know...his hair is very deceiving :) Would you believe me when I told you he started going gray at 16? Although, I must admit, it has gone grayer quicker the past three years.
I love this picture because Dave is ALWAYS trying to make me laugh. Love you! Happy Birthday!
