Spring Break - Day 14

 We slept great (and probably more than if we were at home).  We woke up to a dog on a hike with it's owners barking at our tent.  After we made breakfast and packed up, we headed to the waterfall area.

We were a bit shocked to see the puddle that was there.  Normally water is overflowing in the area we are standing for the picture creating falls all around the area.

The trail was very overgrown in parts of it.

Somewhere along the trail, we got off trail.  We were trying to figure out the best way to get to the trail again and took a couple of ways we thought we could get there until we ran into a SNAKE!  That snake was not letting us pass.  Because the brush was so thick, we didn't really know where the snake was so we froze.  When the snake was still rattling, we figured it was ahead of us so we slowly backed up to an open space.  Then we figured out how to go back and try and get on our trail. We did some steep up and downs but got back on trail and had a great rest of our hike.

It was only 3 miles today but definitely took time.  We ate lunch at Cane's and saw Maka.

Night Hike

 Syd took Maka on a night hike tonight.  It was a beautiful night.

Hiking

 This morning, we went hiking with the YM.  It was a hike that I hadn't done before so even though it was short, it was nice!

Saturday adventures

Lauren took these two on a hike.

Sierra went to Provo to spend time with Brooklyn and Syd.  She had a great time catching up.

Hiking & Basketball

This morning we headed up Mother Miguel with our backpacks.  Much, much better now that my pack is adjusted correctly.

 

Then we went to the youth basketball activity, and we both ended up coaching teams.

Then we watched the Aggies win the Mountain West Conference Championship!

Hiking and Friends

 Today was the first hike with my new backpack.  It took a lot of time to adjust all the straps, but it was GREAT to try it out.

This afternoon, we continued to test out our backpacking equipment.

Then we enjoyed a great night with friends eating dinner, soaking in the hot tub, and chatting.

Snow Hike

 Syd and friends hiked today on a snowy trail.

 When JR works but it's a school holiday, Lauren finds another hiking partner.

Sunday

After church snuggles is exactly what Sandy wanted!

JR and Lauren took a nature walk this afternoon.

In AZ after church, we played games, did homework, and ate dinner together.  We also got some time in the hot tub complete with candles and flowers.
